HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES WILL AGAIN ABOUND IN ROME, FLOYD THIS WEEKEND!

Written by Matt Davis on December 6, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

Holiday festivities will once again abound for locals and visitors to Rome and Floyd County over the weekend.

Enjoy the sounds of the season at “Christmas Back Home” scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at the Rome City Auditorium. Show time is 7 pm both of those nights.  Local favorites Scott Thompson and Brent McDonald will team up with some of their friends to perform holiday classics with a twist.

A second night was added for this second edition of “Christmas Back Home” in order to accommodate busy schedules, says Thompson, who enthuses that he and McDonald will be joined onstage by an eight piece band.  Their show, he adds, will be ‘all over the map’ musically.  Proceeds from the event will go back to a local charity.

Local middle school singers will open the show on Friday night, while Rome Middle School singers will open Saturday night’s show.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  Purchase your tickets and get information about the event at www.christmasbackhome.com.

The Rome Little Theatre’s holiday production of “Scrooge, the Musical” will take the stage at the DeSoto Theatre on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and this Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm.  This marks the show’s final weekend.  Tickets cost $16 for adults, $14 for students and seniors and $12 for children and groups. Get tickets and more information at www.romelittletheatre.org or by calling the RLT Box Office at (706) 295-7171.  Those ticket prices do not include tax or processing fees.

And the annual Cave Spring Christmas Parade is scheduled to take place this Saturday night at 6 pm.  Watch it from the square downtown and visit with all the local business owners!
