HEAVY RAINFALL LEADS TO FLOODING CONCERNS

Written by Matt Davis on February 13, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

Heavy rainfall over the Greater Rome area in recent days has led to concern over the potential for flooding.  And additional rainfall is in the forecast for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service reports that just over two and a half inches of rain fell at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Admiral John H. Towers Field in Armuchee from late Friday night through early this morning.

A chance of showers remains in the local forecast for the rest of the week and into Presidents Day weekend.  High temperatures are expected to peak in the low 70s this Thursday.
