HARVEY, IRMA LEAD TO PAIN IN THE PRICE AT THE GAS PUMP

Written by Matt Davis on September 8, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

Motorists are feeling the pain at the gas pump with what is turning out to be an active hurricane season.

Just as refineries begin to recover in the Gulf Coast from Hurricane Harvey, here comes Hurricane Irma, muses Garrett Townsend, Spokesman for AAA, The Auto Club Group.

Townsend adds that this is a time of year when gas prices generally decline.  But with the uncertainty associated with this active hurricane season, it could be awhile before motorists can catch a break in the price at the pump.

Do you aim to stay within budget and maximize your tank of gas?  There are ways to do it, says Townsend.  His first piece of advice is to ensure that your car is maintained properly.

Townsend also encourages motorists to check out the AAA mobile app for updates on the latest fuel prices.  More information is available online at  www.aaa.com.
