HARBIN CLINIC ONCE AGAIN RACES TO THE AID OF LOCAL NON-PROFITS VIA HARBIN HERO CHALLENGE

Written by Matt Davis on July 3, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

The Harbin Clinic is racing to the aid of local non-profit organizations, and they need the public’s assistance.

Once again this year, the clinic is conducting the Harbin Hero Challenge, an effort to donate some $4,250 among five local charities.  It is part of the 2018 edition of the Harbin Hero Hustle 5K and two-mile health walk, which is set for September 29th.

The public is invited to nominate their favorite charity to be among recipients of the donation.  The nomination period opened on Monday and will continue through 10 pm on Friday, July 27th.  It is powered by social media, states Jim Alred, Content Marketing Manager for the Harbin Clinic.

To nominate a charity, individuals should post the charity name and include the hash tag #HarbinHeroChallenge to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.  Only one vote is accepted per user.  Charities must be actively registered 501(c)(3) based in Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Chattooga or Gordon Counties geared towards health, educational or cultural causes.

The five charities receiving the most nominations each win a $500 donation from the Harbin Clinic.  These five will be announced on Tuesday, July 31st.  Each is eligible to win an additional $1,000 donation; that particular contest winner will be determined by Harbin Hero Hustle registrants, along with the points accumulated from costume contest winners.

An additional $750 prize will be given this year to one of these five charities (for which the $1,000 winner is not eligible).

Alred reminds nominators that every nomination counts in the Harbin Hero Challenge.  So charities – galvanize your troops on social media!

Interested parties are encouraged to check out the Harbin Clinic’s Facebook page for updates throughout the nominating period to find out which charities are in the lead.
