A group of German executives visited the campus of Darlington School on Tuesday.  They were hosted by the Rome-Floyd Chamber.

The importance of education in developing an efficient workforce was the primary topic of conversation among the German visitors with officials from Darlington and the Chamber.

Detlev Ruenger, German Consul to the Southeastern US, indicates that the quality of any workforce is dependent upon the skills and preparedness of its workers.  He adds that German employers, just like employers worldwide, are seeking qualified laborers.

Stefanie Jehlitschka, President and CEO of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeastern US, and Martin Richenhagen, President and CEO of ACGO Corporation, joined Ruenger for the visit to Darlington, which featured a tour of the school’s robotics lab.  Sophia Kalusche, a German exchange student at Darlington, took a break from her studies to meet with the executives from her homeland.
