GEORGIA ARSON CONTROL PRESENTS REWARD CHECK TO A FLOYD COUNTY RESIDENT

Written by Matt Davis on August 13, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

Georgia Arson Control on Monday awarded a $4,750 check to an individual for providing information which led to an arrest and sentencing in an arson case, according to a join media release from the City of Rome and the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department.  The person who was awarded the check has opted to remain anonymous to the public.

The GAC will give up to $10,000 in reward money for individuals that report arson incidents, says Ken LeCroy, a GAC consultant.

Information provided in this particular case led to the conviction of Montana Cole Floyd for an arson crime committed on June 27th, 2018 at 3858 Martha Berry Highway.  She was found guilty on eight different charges.  Monday marked the first time that the GAC has presented a reward check in

Floyd County.

Mary Catherine Chewning, Rome’s Fire Marshal, states that there are several open and unsolved arson cases in Rome and Floyd County.
