GAMBLING EXPECTED TO BE HOT TOPIC UNDER THE GOLD DOME IN 2016

Written by Matt Davis on November 30, 2015. Posted in News/Weather

It won’t be too long until Georgia lawmakers reconvene under the Gold Dome in Atlanta.  The 2016 session of the Georgia General Assembly will begin on Monday, January 11th.

State Representative Katie Dempsey expects an expansion on gambling in Georgia to be a hot item of discussion during the upcoming session.  If the potential arises for things like casinos and horse racing to be established in this state, the matter will first be brought before the voters, according to Dempsey.

Katie Dempsey represents the state’s 13th District in the Georgia House of Representatives, which covers the vast majority of the City of Rome and the Lindale area of Floyd County.
