Written by Matt Davis on November 30, 2015. Posted in News/Weather

Fourteen people lost their lives on Georgia’s roads over Thanksgiving weekend, according to the Georgia State Patrol.  The 102-hour holiday travel period got underway at 6 pm on Wednesday night and ended at midnight on Sunday night.

Two fatalities were reported in Troop A, which covers Northwest Georgia.  A Cedartown teenager died in a Floyd County wreck on Saturday night.  The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Justin Payton.  He was attempting to turn left out of Booger Hollow Road onto US 27 South when his Nissan Sentra was T-boned by a GMC Yukon.  Payton died of multiple blunt trauma injuries.  A wreck on Georgia 293 near Kingston took the life of 21-year-old Jessie Tyler Law of Cartersville on Thursday night.
