FOUNDATION CAMP TO RETURN TO GHC THIS SUMMER

Written by Matt Davis on May 17, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

The Foundation Camp at Georgia Highlands College will return this summer; the dates have been set for May 30th through June 9th, according to a GHC media release.

In its 12th year, the camp is one of several partnerships between the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia and GHC.  It is funded by donors and the GHC Foundation, allowing students to attend free of charge.

The camp focuses on academics, athletics and enrichment courses intended to build self-respect and confidence; it also allows attendees to experience college.  More 100 young men participate each year.  Activities include sports, STEAM-related projects, storytelling and more.

Foundation Camp is free, but a limited number of spaces are available that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  To apply or to get additional information, contact John Hershey at jhershey@highlands.edu.
