ENGINEERING TO BLEND WITH CREATIVITY AND FUN AT ROME AND FLOYD COUNTY CARDBOARD CHALLENGE

Written by Matt Davis on November 9, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

Engineering will be united with creativity and fun at the 4th annual Rome and Floyd County Cardboard Challenge scheduled to take place this Saturday in the Aviation Training Center of Georgia Northwestern Technical College at the Russell Regional Airport in Rome.

Event organizer Chris Carey says that the two-part challenge will consist of one pre-event build and one on-site build.  The creations will fall into one of three categories, including arcade games, designer’s choice and art.  First, second and third place awards will be given to the best entries.

Event hours are 9 am to noon on Saturday; set up hours are 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday and 8 am to 9 am on Saturday.

The public is invited to attend the Cardboard Challenge at no cost.  There will be event t-shirts for sale, along with concessions, from which proceeds will benefit Communities in Schools of Rome and Floyd County.
