DOWNTOWN SATURDAY FOR SEPTEMBER TO FEATURE FREE SCREENING OF ‘BEAUTY AND THE BEAST’ (2017 EDITION)

Written by Matt Davis on August 30, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

The Rome Downtown Development Authority will host its final Downtown Saturday event of the year on Saturday, September 2nd at the Town Green next to The Forum River Center.  A free screening of the 2017 edition of “Beauty and the Beast” will take place around 8 pm.

Megan Treglown, PR director for the DDA, invites the public to bring their blankets and lawn chairs out for a ‘royally good evening’.  Concessions will be offered by The Forum River Center.  In addition, representatives from the Rome International Film Festival will be present to promote the 2017 festival, which is scheduled to take place in November.

Downtown Saturdays are made financially possible by downtown Rome’s Business Improvement District.  Attendees of this month’s event are urged to patronize these businesses as a means of thanking them for their support so that families can enjoy festivities free of charge.

Treglown indicates that the Downtown Saturday series has been met with success.  The series was instituted this year as a replacement for the popular First Friday concerts.
