DOWNTOWN PARKING CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT MONDAY

Written by Matt Davis on May 15, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

Changes to parking in downtown Rome are slated to take effect on Monday, May 20th.  A new enforcement time has been designated from 8 am until 8 pm each Monday through Saturday; during those hours, no vehicle or motorcycle will be permitted to park for more than two hours (consecutive or otherwise) in the downtown parking zone.   Compliance with this rule will be tracked by LPR (License Plate Recognition) technology.

Graduation parking over this Memorial Day weekend will remain the same as in previous years. Parking will be free in the 4th Avenue and 6th Avenue decks. Special event parking will be offered at the 3rd Avenue deck for $5.

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority posted details on their Facebook page (Downtown Rome, GA) earlier this week about the downtown parking change.  Those with questions on the matter are directed to contact the DDA office at (706) 236-4520.
