DON’T LEAVE PETS OR KIDS IN HOT CARS THIS SUMMER!

Written by Matt Davis on June 11, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

Here’s a friendly summertime reminder from the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department – don’t leave your kids or pets in hot cars!

Fire safety educator Linda Patty indicates that it only takes minutes for a car to reach temperatures from the upper 90s into the 100s.

Patty further advises pet owners to ensure that their furry friends have plenty of cold water and shelter from the heat.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service call for high temperatures in the upper 80s throughout this week, in addition to a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

The first official day of summer 2018 is Thursday, June 21st.
