Those who have yet to dispose of their Christmas trees are reminded to Bring One for the Chipper! The annual Bring One for the Chipper event, hosted by Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful, is set for Saturday from 9 am until 12 pm in the parking lot of The Home Depot at 103 Hicks Drive in Rome.
Tree recyclers will be given seedlings in exchange for those Christmas trees, thanks to Georgia Forestry Commission and Keep Georgia Beautiful.
Keith Mickler, the University of Georgia Extension agent for Floyd County, says that Christmas trees will be recycled into wildlife habitats.
