DEAN NAMED ROME CITY SCHOOLS’ TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Stephanie Dean, a fifth grade social studies and writing teacher at West Central Elementary, has been named the Rome City Schools’ Teacher of the Year.  Brittany Carpenter, a kindergarten teacher at East Central Elementary, is the runner-up.  Both were honored during the school system’s Teacher of the Year banquet at Rome Middle on Tuesday evening.  Julie Clonts, secretary for Elm Street Elementary, received the Support Employee of the Year Award.

Dean will go on to represent the Rome City Schools in the state Teacher of the Year competition.  The winner will be announced in the spring.
