Written by Matt Davis on September 12, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

Darlington School senior Grace Greene is among the 16,000 students across the nation to be named semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.  These students have a shot at continuing in the competition for some 8,300 scholarship awards worth more than $32 million that will be offered this spring.

According to a Darlington media release, Greene is ranked number five in her class of 127 students and has taken 10 Honors and seven AP courses at Darlington.

About 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the title of Merit Scholar.
