CRBI PROGRAM COORDINATOR TO EMBARK ON INCREDIBLE JOURNEY

Written by Matt Davis on August 14, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

The Coosa River Basin Initiative’s Program Coordinator Amos Tuck will embark on an incredible journey later this month.  On Saturday, August 25th, he will begin a three-week journey of some 200 miles from the headwaters of the Conasauga River in the Cohutta Wilderness to Weiss Lake in Alabama.  Tuck says the public will have some opportunities along the way to join him.  Activities have been planned to that end, including a snorkel along the Conasauga, a fish study with Charles Curlee from Curlee’s Fish House in downtown Rome and a welcome party for Tuck at Weiss Lake.

Tuck indicates that the purpose of the trip is to raise money to protect the Coosa River and to educate the public about aquatic wildlife that make the Upper Coosa River Basin North America’s most biologically diverse river basin.  He says he will be blogging about his findings along the journey.  The blogs, as well as more information about Tuck’s trip, can be found on the Coosa River Basin Initiative’s website at www.coosa.org.
