FAIR WEEK FUN CONTINUES AT COOSA VALLEY FAIRGROUNDS

The 74th annual Coosa Valley Fair continues this week at the fairgrounds located at 1400 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Rome.

Today is Kids and Seniors Day at the fair with free admission for students and for seniors ages 55 and up from 10 am until 2 pm. Starting at 5 pm, all attendees will pay regular admission price – $10 for those ages six and older. Admission is free for kids under the age of six. Armbands will be available for purchase at a cost of $30 apiece for unlimited rides until closing tonight at 10 pm. Vendors, exhibits, and rides will not open until 5 pm.

Steve White, 2023 President of the Coosa Valley Fair Association, urges fair-goers to check out the arts and crafts exhibits, as well as the flower show.

The photography exhibit also attracts plenty of visitors each year, adds Bryan Shealy, CVFA member. If you’d like to see some animals at the fair, Shealy recommends the Camp Carousel Petting Zoo.

Special features at this year’s fair additionally include Jurassic Kingdom, a rock-climbing wall, a mechanical bull, the Magical Adventure Show, and the Space Adventure Thrill Show, says Shealy.

The Coosa Valley Fair opened on Tuesday and continues through Saturday. The 2023 theme is ‘Fun, Fun, and More Fun!’. More information, including a daily schedule of events, is available at www.coosavalleyfair.com and on the event’s Facebook page.

The fair is presented each year by the Exchange Club of Rome. Proceeds go back into the community.
