Learn about one of the most important documents in American history and have fun while doing it at the 2012 Constitution Day Festival.  The free event is set for this Saturday, September 15th from 11 am until 3 pm at The Forum in downtown Rome.  Janice Hadaway with the Friends of the Constitution, the organization presenting the event, says that a scavenger hunt is a part of the activities planned for Saturday that will make learning about the constitution fun.

US Representative Tom Graves and State Senator Barry Loudermilk are among the speakers lined up for the Constitution Day Festival, which will also include music from Rome’s Eighth Regiment Band, the Pollard Greens jazz band and more.

Hadaway says that there will also be a number of vendors and educational booths at the event.

In addition to the door prizes, a grand prize of a vacation to an as yet undisclosed location will also be given away at Saturday’s Constitution Day Festival.  An essay contest is also a part of activities lined up for the day.  For more information about the 2012 Constitution Day Festival, call Janice Hadaway at (706) 378-7458.
