CONGRESSMAN BARRY LOUDERMILK AND WIFE INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Written by Matt Davis on September 13, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

US Representative Barry Loudermilk of Cassville, Georgia and his wife are recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident in Knoxville, Tennessee on Tuesday.

Both Congressman Loudermilk and his wife Desiree have been treated and released from the hospital, according to a release from Loudermilk’s office.  The couple had come home to Georgia to assist with Irma response, and the storm having cleared the area, they were en route back to Washington DC when the accident occurred.

The Loudermilks were traveling east on I-40 when their vehicle was struck from behind by a second vehicle, causing their vehicle to leave the road and flip multiple times, coming to rest on the passenger side.

Injuries sustained by the pair were not life-threatening; they’ve been advised to return to Georgia for follow-up treatment.

Loudermilk represents Georgia’s 11th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives.
