FALCONS OPEN REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS AT PHILLY

The Atlanta Falcons opened their regular season with a loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles 18-12 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Thursday night.  The Falcons will play host to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 16th.

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Boston Red Sox 9-8 on Wednesday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at SunTrust Park, allowing the Red Sox to sweep the series.  Thus ended a nine-game homestand that left Atlanta with three wins and six losses.

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Boston Red Sox 5-1 on Tuesday night in the middle outing of a three-game interleague set at SunTrust Park, allowing the red hot Red Sox to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays 8-5 on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game series at SunTrust Park, resulting in an even 1-1 split in the interleague set.  The outing was preceded and interrupted by a pair of rain delays.

The Atlanta Braves began a nine-game homestand with a 9-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night at SunTrust Park, marking the second win in a row for the Braves as well as the end of an eight-game winning streak for the Rays.

ATLANTA BRAVES TO OPEN NINE-GAME HOMESTAND TONIGHT

The Atlanta Braves were off on Monday and will return to action this evening on their home field at SunTrust Park with the first of two interleague matches versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Julio Teheran will be starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Ryne Stanek will head to the mound for Tampa Bay.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 pm; air time is 6:20 pm from the Braves Radio Network.
