Should candidates in the race for the Republican presidential nomination answer questions related to the recent rant of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh towards a Georgetown student in relation to her stance on insurance coverage on birth control?  Adam Clemons, the owner of Rome-based political consulting firm ABC Design and a member of Georgia’s state GOP committee, says he believes that the candidates should address those questions only if they’re relevant.

ISAKSON, BOXER INTRODUCE US-ISRAEL ENHANCED SECURITY COOPERATION ACT OF 2012

Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia and Senator Barbara Boxer of California have crossed political party lines as the Republican and the Democrat introduced the United States-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act of 2012.  According to a release from Senator Isakson’s office, the measure seeks to reaffirm the strong historic relationship between the United States and Israel as well as strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.

SUPER TUESDAY TO DRAW VOTERS TO THE POLLS TODAY

Today is Super Tuesday.  Voters in 10 states, including Georgia, will go to the polls today to have their say on who should get the Republican nomination for President and go on to face Democrat Barack Obama in the fall.  Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Georgia’s own Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are all in the running for that nomination.  In Floyd County, voters will also cast their ballots for or against the 2012 SPLOST.  And voters in the City of Rome will determine the fate of Sunday alcohol package sales.

95.7 FM THE RIDGE/ROME NEWS-TRIBUNE BATTLE OF THE BANDS TOP 15 NAMED

The primary election won’t be the only thing getting votes today.  Online voting begins today for the third annual 95.7 FM The Ridge/Rome News-Tribune Battle of the Bands.  The contest has arrived at it’s Top 15 list of artists, whose music will be played live on-air on Matt D and Mullins in the Mornin’ on 95.7 FM The Ridge and during the Northwest Georgia Music Hour (which airs on Wednesdays at noon on 95.7 FM The Ridge).  And starting today, fans can vote for their favorites online at www.rn-t.com.  Online voting for the Battle of the Bands continues thru Sunday, March 18th.
