AIRSOFT GUN CONFISCATED FROM PEPPERELL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT

A Pepperell Middle School student on Thursday reportedly brought an airsoft gun to school.  According to a release from the Floyd County Schools, upon investigation, no CO2 cartridge or pellets were found in the weapon.

Local high school freshmen have been given a hands-on lesson about the consequences of their choices via participation in the 6th annual Floyd County Teen Maze this week at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome.

Here’s a reminder that you don’t have to wait until Election Day to vote in the November 7th election.  Early voting continues through November 3rd at the Floyd County Elections Office, inside the county Administration Building on East Fourth Avenue in downtown Rome, and Garden Lakes Baptist Church, 2200 Redmond Circle, on weekdays from 8 am until 5 pm. A third location will open at the Rome Civic Center next Monday through Friday; hours will be 8 am until 5 pm.

CHIAHA HARVEST FAIR SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND

The 53rd annual Chiaha Harvest Fair is scheduled to take place this Saturday and Sunday, October 28th and 29th at Ridgeferry Park in Rome.  Event hours are 10 am until 5 pm both days.

EARLY VOTING CONTINUES FOR NOVEMBER 7TH ELECTION

Early voting continues for the November 7th election.  According to the Floyd County Elections Office, 740 people have cast their ballots since the three-week advance voting period began on October 16th.

FLOYD TO HOST CLERGY APPRECIATION EVENT THIS THURSDAY

October is Clergy Appreciation Month.  The Pastoral and Spiritual Services department at Floyd will hold a reception in their honor on Thursday at 2 pm in the hospital cafeteria.
