ROME DDA, HERITAGE FIRST BANK TO OFFER DOWNTOWN LOFT TOUR ON SEPTEMBER 23

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority will team with Heritage First Bank to offer local residents a glimpse into some of downtown Rome’s most unique living spaces via a Downtown Loft Tour to be offered on Saturday, September 23rd.  The tour will depart from the lobby of the bank, located at 500 Broad Street, at 3 pm.

Get ready for unseasonably cool temperatures tonight in Greater Rome!  The National Weather Service predicts that lows will be in the low 50’s overnight, possibly setting a record for this date.  There exists a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for this morning that will give way to clearing skies as the day progresses.  Daytime highs over the next couple of days are expected to be the in the upper 70s.

ST. MARY’S KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LABOR DAY BBQ SERVES UP TRADITION

Labor Day weekend culminated (for many local residents) with the 50th annual St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Labor Day BBQ on Monday at the Rome Civic Center.

AAA:  GAS PRICES SPIKE IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE HARVEY

Gas prices spiked during the past week in response to Hurricane Harvey’s impact on the fuel refining region in the Gulf Coast.  According to AAA, The Auto Club Group, this left motorists with the most expensive Labor Day gas prices in three years.  Just as operations in the Gulf Coast begin to recover, motorists are faced with the potential of another major storm (Irma).
