BROAD STREET BLOCK PARTY TO SERVE AS FINAL FIRST FRIDAY CONCERT FOR 2012

Written by Matt Davis on September 5, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

Get ready to dance in the street at the final First Friday concert for 2012 this Friday night.  This month’s concert is billed as the “Broad Street Block Party” and will be held in the 200 block of Broad Street from 6 pm until 11 pm.  It will feature the music of three different bands – Jerry On The Moon, Curiosity Shoppe Band and Kneckdown.

The First Friday concert series is presented by the Rome Downtown Development Authority and made possible by the Business Improvement District.  Amanda Carter with the DDA says that her organization is pleased to offer something different to attendees this month.

There are a couple of changes for this month’s concert, other than a change of venue, according to Carter.  Those who wish to purchase adult beverages at restaurants in the 200 block can purchase a First Friday cup in which they can bring their drink to the concert.

Broad Street in the 200 block will be closed to traffic beginning at 2 pm to prepare for the First Friday Broad Street Block Party.

Carter says that Broad Street Block Party t-shirts are available for purchase at $10 each.  For more information about the First Friday concert series, call the Rome Downtown Development Authority at (706) 236-4520.

WLAQ AM 1410 and 95.7 FM The Ridge are proud sponsors of the 2012 First Friday concert series.
