Written by Matt Davis on May 14, 2019. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves had the day off Monday and will return to SunTrust Park to open a six game homestand with an outing against the St. Louis Cardinals this evening.  Mike Foltynewicz will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Jack Flaherty will head to the mound for St. Louis.  First pitch is slated for 7:20 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm from the Braves Radio Network.

The Braves just concluded a 10-game road trip that included stops in Miami, Los Angeles and Arizona which resulted in a total of six wins and four losses.

Atlanta is once again above .500 with 21 wins and 20 losses thus far in 2019; they are in second place of the National League East, three and a half games behind the Philadelphia Phillies.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves dropped both games of a double header to the Columbia Fireflies, 2-1 and 6-1, on Monday at Columbia, SC.  Rome will be back at State Mutual Stadium tonight to take on the Asheville Tourists at 7 pm.
