BRAVES TAKE SECOND IN A ROW FROM PHILLIES
The Atlanta Braves fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 2-0 in the closer of a three game series last night at Turner Field. It was a tough night for Braves starter Kris Medlen, who apparently struggled with control issues last night. Medlen was tagged with the loss after giving up two earned runs and six hits over five innings. Cliff Lee got the win for the Phillies after pitching eight scoreless innings. Jonathan Papelbon got the save.
Cold weather and a couple of tough calls also plagued the Braves last night.
The Braves took two of three from the Phillies. They will welcome the Chicago Cubs to Atlanta for a three game series over the weekend. Game one is set for tonight at 7:30 pm at Turner Field and will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball. Pre-game programming will begin at 6:15 pm.
