The Atlanta Braves opened up a six-game road trip out west with a loss to the San Diego Padres 11-4 on Monday night in San Diego.

It was a tough night on the mound for Julio Teheran, who exited the ballgame after just four innings. He surrendered four runs (including three homers) and five hits, walked three and struck out two en route to the loss for Atlanta.

The Padres added significant padding to their lead over the Braves with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth, including an RBI double from Jose Pirela off Luis Gohara.

Eric Hosmer, Cory Spangenberg, Raffy Lopez and Franmil Reyes each hit home runs for San Diego; Clayton Richard was the winning pitcher.

The Braves and the Padres will meet again tonight in the middle outing of a three game set at Petco Park.  First pitch is slated for 10:10 pm Eastern.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 8:55 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were off on Monday and will get back into action this evening in Asheville, NC versus the Tourists; first pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
