The Atlanta Braves defeated the New York Mets 7-3 in the finale of a four-game set at SunTrust Park on Sunday night, which resulted in a 2-2 split in the first series of the year among the NL East rivals.

Nick Markakis and Josh Donaldson both had solo home runs for the Braves; each also homered in Saturday’s 11-7 win over the Mets.  Charlie Culberson contributed a pinch-hit, two-run shot in the sixth inning.

Julio Teheran picked up the win for Atlanta after giving up just one run and six hits, walking two and striking out six in six innings.  Jacob deGrom took the loss for New York.

The Braves are off tonight and will return to action on Tuesday night with the first of three games at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 and the new 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves beat the Greenville Drive 8-7 on Sunday at State Mutual Stadium.  Rome will welcome the Columbia Fireflies to town this evening; first pitch is set for 7 pm.
