BLAINE WILLIAMS EAGER TO PERMANENTLY BECOME FLOYD COUNTY MANAGER

The year 2012 is almost here.  And when it arrives, interim Floyd County Manager Blaine Williams will take the position of manager permanently.  He fills the spot vacated by Kevin Poe, who left Floyd County to take over as manager of Jackson County.

Williams told WLAQ News/The Ridge Report that he and County Commissioners will hit the ground running when the new year begins, particularly working on county budgets.

Williams, who served as Floyd County’s Assistant Manager for four and a half years prior to taking over as interim manager, says the search is on for a new assistant county manager.  He says that resumes will be accepted at the end of January, with interviews to be held in February. He anticipates a new assistant manager will be named in mid to late March.
