ATLANTA UNITED TOPS NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION

In soccer news, Atlanta United took a 7-0 victory from the New England Revolution at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday night.  Josef Martinez led the charge with three goals in the first half.  Atlanta United will host Orlando City on Saturday afternoon.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE AND ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT SET FOR SATURDAY

The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center will host a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Event this Saturday, September 16th.  Items will be collected from 9 am until 3 pm at the center, located at 405 Watters Street.

RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC TO BE HELD AT FLOYD COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Floyd County Environmental Health will team with PAWS (Public Animal Welfare Services) and local veterinarians to conduct a rabies vaccination clinic for cats and dogs on Saturday, September 16th from 1 pm until 4 pm in the parking lot of the Floyd County Health Department, 16 East 12th Street in Rome.  Cost for the vaccination is $10.

US Representative Barry Loudermilk of Cassville, Georgia and his wife are recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident in Knoxville, Tennessee on Tuesday.

ATLANTA BRAVES SHUT OUT NL-EAST CHAMPION WASHINGTON NATIONALS IN DC
