The Atlanta Braves swept the Miami Marlins in a day-night doubleheader on Monday at SunTrust Park.  Atlanta won the first outing by a final score of 9-1 and emerged victorious in the nightcap, 6-1.

AAA:  GAS PRICES SLIDE SLIGHTLY IN GEORGIA

Gas prices in the southeastern US moved in opposite directions over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group.  While pump prices moved lower in Georgia and Tennessee, they climbed in Florida.

The Rome City Commission will meet in regular session this evening.  Their 6:30 pm meeting will be preceded by a 5 pm caucus session at City Hall (the City Auditorium) on Broad Street; both are open to the public.

The Atlanta Braves edged the Milwaukee Brewers 8-7 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game set at SunTrust Park, allowing the Braves to take the weekend series 2-1.

Dr. Jeffrey Wilson, the new Superintendent of Floyd County Schools, wants to let local residents know that yes, there are talks of school consolidation on the table.  But he expects the discussion to continue for awhile; no decisions will be made on this matter any time soon.

ROME CELEBRITY DANCE CHALLENGE ANTICIPATED TO BE THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN THIS WEEKEND
