ATLANTA BRAVES SET TO GET FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME STAND UNDERWAY TONIGHT

The Atlanta Braves were off yesterday and return to action tonight as they begin their final regular season home stand for 2012.  The six game set will feature three games with the Miami Marlins tonight thru Thursday night, followed by three games with the New York Mets over the weekend.  First pitch of tonight’s game one against the Marlins is set for 7:10 pm at Turner Field.  The game will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ.  Air time for the pre-game show is 5:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL UPDATE

High school football will take to the airwaves of WLAQ AM 1410 and 95.7 FM The Ridge this Friday night.  WLAQ will be on the road with the Darlington Tigers as they take on the Trion Bulldogs.  In the Northwest Georgia High School Football Game of the Week on 95.7 FM The Ridge, we’ll be at Model High School as the Blue Devils host the Armuchee Indians.

ATLANTA FALCONS HOPE TO CONTINUE WINNING WAYS IN 2012 SEASON; MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL UPDATE

The Atlanta Falcons have been on fire to start the 2012 season with a 3-0 record so far.  This is the first time that the Falcons have had a 3-0 start to the season since 2004, when they opened the season 4-0.  The Dirty Birds hope to keep the fire alive as they seek out their fourth straight win when they host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.  Kick off is set for 1 pm at the Georgia Dome.  The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge, Northwest Georgia’s home for Atlanta Falcons football.

September’s not over yet!  Emergency management officials nationwide have been observing National Preparedness Month this month as they do every September.  Daniel Carpenter, fire safety educator with the Rome Fire Department, says it’s important to have certain items handy in the event of emergency such as non perishable food and drinkable water.

ROME CITY COMMISSION TO MEET THIS EVENING
