The Atlanta Braves defeated the New York Mets 5-4 in 10 innings on Sunday in the finale of a four game set at Citi Field in New York, allowing Atlanta to take the series 3-1.

Nick Markakis clubbed a solo home run in the top of the 10th to ultimately lift the Braves to victory.

That capped off a late rally from the Braves, who were down 3-0 by the end of the fourth inning.  Starting pitcher Julio Teheran got the rally started with a solo home run in the top of the fifth, the first of his career.

AJ Minter was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta, in spite of giving up the game-tying solo shot to Devin Morasco in the ninth.  Jesse Biddle nabbed the save.  Tyler Bashlor took the loss for New York.

The Braves are off today and will return to action on Tuesday in Washington DC with a day-night doubleheader against the Nationals.  First pitch of game one is slated for 1:05 pm at Nationals Park; that outing will not be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 as we air Rush Limbaugh at that time. WLAQ will have the nightcap, which is set for 7:05 pm; air time is 5:50 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves fell to the Greenville Drive 9-2 on Sunday at Greenville, SC.  Rome is off today.
