ATLANTA BRAVES SWEPT BY CINCINNATI REDS IN CINCY

Written by Matt Davis on May 25, 2012. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves lost for the fourth night in a row to the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 last night in Cincinnati, allowing the Reds to sweep the Braves in the four game series between the teams.  That marks the first time that the Braves have lost four in a row since the beginning of the season.

Michael Bourn and Juan Francisco both homered for the Braves in last night’s game.  Those homers from Bourn and Francisco were not enough to help the Braves overcome the Reds and, again, the Reds beat the Braves by a final score of 6-3 last night.

Thus ends a seven game road trip for the Braves that began in Tampa Bay against the Rays and left the Braves with two wins and five losses.

The Braves are now a game behind the Washington Nationals, who maintain the lead in the National League East.

The Braves return home to Atlanta for a six game home stand that will include three games with the Washington Nationals and three with the St. Louis Cardinals.  Tonight’s game one against the Nationals is set to get underway at 7:35 pm at Turner Field and will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball.  Air time for the pre-game show is 6:25 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.
