ATLANTA BRAVES’ LOSE EIGHT IN A ROW WITH MEMORIAL DAY LOSS TO ST. LOUIS CARDINALS AT TURNER FIELD

Written by Matt Davis on May 29, 2012. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves’ current losing streak extended to eight games yesterday with a Memorial Day loss to the St. Louis Cardinals 8-2 in the series opener between the teams at Turner Field.

The Braves’ only two runs were scored on a single from Juan Francisco in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Braves starting pitcher Tommy Hanson was tagged with the loss as the Braves fell to the Cardinals yesterday by a final score, again, of 8-2.

After leading the National League East at the beginning of last week, the Braves are now tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for last place, four games back from the division-leading Washington Nationals.

The Braves will face the Cardinals again tonight at 7:10 pm at Turner Field.  The game will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball.  Air time for the pre-game show is 5:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.
