ATLANTA BRAVES IN MIAMI THIS WEEKEND FOR NL EAST SERIES VS MARLINS; ROME BRAVES CONTINUE SERIES UP IN ABERDEEN, MD VS. IRONBIRDS

The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off day Thursday and will continue their current six game road trip with a three-game NL East set in Miami versus the Marlins this weekend. Charlie Morton will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta in tonight’s opener, and Trevor Rogers will be on the mound for Miami. First pitch is slated for 6:40 pm at loanDepot Park. The Braves opened this road trip in Milwaukee by dropping a three-game set to the Brewers by 2-1; Milwaukee took that series with an extra inning win in the finale by 7-6 on Wednesday.

Atlanta now holds fourth place of the National League East with a record of 17-21, and Miami is in third place at 17-20. The Marlins lead the season set among division rivals by 2-1.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves fell to the Aberdeen Ironbirds 5-1 on Thursday night in game three of a six-game set up in Aberdeen, Maryland. It allowed the IronBirds to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The teams will meet again tonight at 7:05 pm.

Rome is in the midst of a 12-game road trip which will feature a six-game set up in New York state versus the Hudson Valley Renegades next week.
