ATLANTA BRAVES GET RAINED OUT, HIT THE ROAD AGAIN

Written by Matt Davis on August 2, 2018. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves’ series finale with the Miami Marlins that was scheduled for Wednesday night at SunTrust Park was rained out.  It will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on Monday, August 13th; first pitch of game one is set for 1:35 pm.

Atlanta’s rain-shortened homestand left the team with an even three wins and three losses, including a sweep of the two outings they did get to play against the Marlins.  They are currently a half-game behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the race for the top spot of the National League East.

The Braves are on the road again.  They’ll take on the New York Mets tonight in the first of four games at Citi Field.  Mike Foltynewicz will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Jason Vargas will head to the mound for NY.  First pitch is slated for 7:10 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 5:55 pm from the Braves Radio Network.

Upon the completion of their series in New York, the Braves will proceed to Washington DC for four games versus the Nationals.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves were also rained out Wednesday; their scheduled twin bill with the Greensboro Grasshoppers will not be made up.  Rome will be at Greenville tonight to face the Drive at 7:05 pm.
