ATLANTA BRAVES GOING FISHIN’ IN MIAMI; THREE GAME SERIES AGAINST MARLINS TO BEGIN TONIGHT

Written by Matt Davis on June 5, 2012. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves were off yesterday and return to action in their current road trip with three games against the Miami Marlins in Miami, Florida tonight thru Thursday night.  Tim Hudson is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for the Braves tonight.  First pitch is set for 7:10 pm at Miami’s new Marlins Park.  The game will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball.  Air time for the pre-game show is 5:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.

The Braves’ current road trip began with a weekend series in Washington DC against the Nationals, which the teams split at a game a piece (Friday night’s game was rained out). The Nationals and the Marlins are now tied for first place in the National League East.  The Braves are two games back from those teams and two games ahead of the last place Philadelphia Phillies.

In other Atlanta Braves news, the Braves picked pitcher Lucas Sims from Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County yesterday as their first-round selection in this year’s First-Year Player Draft, 21st overall.   The second round is set for today at noon.
