ATLANTA BRAVES FALL TO WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Written by Matt Davis on March 30, 2012. Posted in Sports

In your Atlanta Braves Spring Training update, the Braves lost to the Washington Nationals 6-3 yesterday in Viera, Florida.  One highlight of the game for the Braves was when Jason Heyward drilled a home run over the centerfield wall to allow the Braves to get on the board first in the top of the fifth inning.

The Braves may have gotten on the board first, but they only scored two more runs after that and the Nationals had a big sixth inning in which they scored six runs.  The Nationals ended up beating the Braves, again, by a final score of 6-3.

The Braves will play a couple of split squad games with the Houston Astros tonight.  One will get underway at 6:05 pm at the Braves’ Spring Training home of Champion Stadium in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.  The other is set for 7:05 pm in Kissimmee.

Opening Day is now less than a week away for the Atlanta Braves and the Rome Braves!  Both teams will open the 2012 regular season on Thursday, April 5th!  The Atlanta Braves will be in New York that day to take on the Mets, while the Rome Braves will be in Charleston, South Carolina to face the Riverdogs.  WLAQ AM 1410 and 95.7 FM The Ridge will once again this year serve as Rome and Northwest Georgia’s Braves connection.  Once the regular season begins, you can listen all the action of Atlanta Braves baseball on WLAQ.  Tune in for Rome Braves baseball on 95.7 FM The Ridge.
