The Atlanta Braves shut out the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 on Tuesday night in the opener of a brief two-game interleague series at Tampa Bay, allowing Atlanta to snap a three-game losing skid.

Ronald Acuna Jr. put the Braves on top with a home run in the top of the third inning. The solo shot allowed Acuna to become the youngest MLB player to homer in a 1-0 game since 1935.

Sean Newcomb was credited with the win after limiting the Rays to two hits, walking three and striking out six in six scoreless innings.  Arodys Vizcaino got the save.  Blake Snell took the loss for Tampa Bay.

The Braves will conclude their series against the Rays tonight at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.  First pitch is slated for 7:10 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410.  Air time is 5:55 pm.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves had the day off on Tuesday and will return to action this evening with a double header at Augusta versus the Greenjackets.  First pitch of game one is set for 5:05 pm.
