AMANDA CARTER TAPPED TO LEAD ROME DDA

Amanda Carter has been tapped to succeed Ann Arnold as the new director of Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, the office of the City Manager announced on Wednesday.

Carter currently serves as the Administrative Assistant/Marketing and Event Coordinator for the DDA.  According to a press release from the city, she was selected from a field of thirty internal and external candidates to serve as the organization’s new director.

Sammy Rich, Rome’s City Manager, says of Carter, “She has worked to exceed the desired goals of the Downtown Development Authority and certainly has a passion for developing the historic, social and economic culture of the downtown.”

Rich will present Carter to the Rome City Commission for affirmation of her appointment at the commission’s meeting on May 22nd.
