An additional sign up date has been scheduled for the Floyd County Toys for Tots program.  Parents or guardians of children thru age 12 can register at Good Neighbor Ministries, 208 East Second Street in Rome, from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturday, December 1st.

The local Toys for Tots program is now being run by the Exchange Club of Rome.  Local coordinator Hal Gosnell says that Exchange has taken over the program as of this year.  Toys for Tots originated locally with the Marine Corps Reserve, which has since moved to Marietta.

Those wishing to donate a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots can find toy receptacles all over town, according to Gosnell.

Toys will be distributed on Saturday, December 15th at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds, beginning at 7 am.

Those who would like to apply to receive assistance from Toys for Tots on December 1st must remember to bring proof of residence in Floyd County, parent or guardian’s picture ID, and chidren’s Social Security cards or birth certificates.
