AAA:  GEORGIA GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO DECLINE

Georgia’s gas prices continue to decrease, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group.  Motorists statewide are now paying an average of $2.50 per gallon of regular unleaded, four cents less than this time last week, 11 cents more than this time last month and 25 cents less than this time last year.

It now costs $37.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline.  That’s $5.10 less than  last May, when pump prices hit their 2018 peak of $2.84 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, a spokesperson for AAA, indicates, “Gas demand is starting to decline, which is typically the case during fall.  If demand continues to drop, while stocks decline or hold steady, pump prices will likely continue to stabilize this week.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.66 per gallon of regular unleaded was a cent more than at the same time last week and nine cents more than this time last month, but 25 cents less than a year ago.
