AAA: GAS PRICES DECLINED AN AVERAGE OF FOUR CENTS IN GEORGIA OVER THE PAST WEEK

Written by Matt Davis on May 13, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

Gas prices in Georgia declined an average of four cents during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group.  Sunday’s state average of $2.68 is two cents more than this time last month, but nearly four cents less than at the same time last year.

Mark Jenkins, AAA Spokesman, states, “Stabilizing fuel supplies and lower crude oil prices are leading to cheaper prices at the pump.”

But Jenkins warns, “However, May is a very volatile month for gasoline and motorists should not be surprised if pump prices rise again before Memorial Day.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.86 is three cents less than one week ago, but five cents more than this time last month.  The price is about the same as it was at this time last year.
