AAA: GAS PRICES DECLINED AGAIN LAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices decreased again last week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide now pay an average of $2.26 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s four cents less than last week and 20 cents less than last month, but 13 cents more than this time last year.

It now costs $33.90 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That’s $7.20 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, a spokeswoman for AAA, indicates, “Elevated stocks and low demand have helped to push the national average lower. As these trends continue, Georgia motorists will likely continue to see pump prices decline through the week.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.43 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is four cents less than a week ago and 17 cents less than at this time last month, but 15 cents more than at this time last year.
