Registration continues for the 30th annual Roman Rumble 5K and 2-Mile Health Walk, a benefit for Harbor House, Rome’s Child Advocacy Center.  The event is set for Saturday, September 17th at Ridgeferry Park.

The 5K is a chip-timed event on a USA Track & Field certified course.  Harbor House supporter Chase Babineaux of Garner and Glover (who is also a cross country coach at St. Mary’s School) says that the race route is ‘easy to navigate’ and therefore ‘family friendly’.

The race is scheduled to take off at 8 am; the walk will begin at 8:05 am.

Gail Garland, Executive Director of Harbor House, says that the fundraising goal for this year’s Roman Rumble is $10,000.  The money will go towards the organization’s mission to serve as a legal advocate for families where there have been allegations of child abuse.

Pre-registration is available online at www.active.com until midnight on Wednesday, September 14th at a cost of $25 for the 5K and $20 for the walk.  You can also download an application at www.romanrumble.org and mail it in; registration and payment must be postmarked by September 9th.  Teams of 10 or more may receive a $5 discount per person if registration forms are submitted together at Harbor House by 5 pm on September 14th.

Race day registration will be offered from 6:30 am until 7:30 am on the morning of the race; it will be $30 for the 5K and $20 for the walk.

For more information about the Roman Rumble, call Harbor House at (706) 235-5437.
